The Road to the Runway: Lesson Zero Overview
Introduction
Welcome to "The Road to the Runway," a guide to getting you ready for your flight training at United Flight Systems. Think of Lesson Zero as a warm-up session, where we tackle your most pressing questions, so you can dive into your first flight lesson with confidence and excitement.
Preparation
Before you even step into the cockpit, there are a few things we need to take care of:
Citizenship Proof: If you're a U.S. citizen, you'll need to show proof. If not, we'll help you complete a TSA training request.
Photo ID: Bring a government-issued photo ID.
Rental Agreement: You'll need to sign the United Flight Systems Rental Agreement.
Student Pilot Certificate: Apply for this certificate through the IACRA website.
Medical Certificate: Get a medical check-up from an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner.
Availability Worksheet: Fill out the New Student Availability Worksheet so we can schedule your first lessons.

Student and Instructor Expectations
To ensure smooth sailing, we have a few expectations:
For Students: Complete study assignments, follow our cancellation policies, and dress appropriately. Take good care of the aircraft.
For Instructors: They'll supervise your pre- and post-flight activities, check fuel and oil levels, and log your lessons according to the syllabus.
